NOTE: THIS ARTICLE HAS BEEN UPDATED TO REFLECT THE PROPER DEADLINE FOR APPLYING. THE FOREST SERVICE ANNOUNCED THE WRONG DATE.
A new National Advisory Committee for Implementation of the National Forest System Land Management Planning Rule will be formed. The name is a mouthful but it says exactly what the new advisory board will do.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture is taking nominations until February 21.
The committee can include up to 21 members, including representatives of different interests. Eligible are people from state and local governments, recreational hunting and fishing, off-highway vehicle users, and others involved in recreation, either from the business or user sides.
No registered lobbyists are eligible, though.
Members will serve without pay, though they may get transportation costs reimbursed.
