Well, that didn’t take long. The first reports of Black Friday casualties are in and it looks like the winner is in California. There, a woman was angry at the pushing and shoving in her local Walmart so she decided to take out her pepper spray and do her own crowd control.
This happened at Walmart as the customers were rushing towards a curtain that had just been lifted revealing Black Friday sales. The woman, who was with her two small children, was apparently upset by the unruly shoppers. Luckily, injuries were minor, but what kind of an idiot thinks that the crowds will just part and let her through?
Two other malls reported gun shots fired, including one where a shopper was critically injured after refusing to give up his purchases to a robber. Add being pepper sprayed, robbed and shot to the list of reasons to maybe shop online next year.
It was reported that by 10 p.m., there were already hundreds of people on line at the Best Buy in New York and an unbelievable 2,000 shoppers on line at a Florida Best Buy. Seriously, that number is just plain ridiculous and by the time you get in the store, there won’t be anything left.
Shoppers are too aggressive these days and if you think you are going to be able to browse around, you will most likely be trampled. Want to keep updated? On Twitter you can use @BlackFridayFans to share your deals or see what’s going on and where others are shopping.
Staying at home? There are tons of great online sales this year and many even offer free shipping. Check out these online sales and shop from home.
But if you must head out, don’t overlook the malls. Of course there will be crowds, but because the malls are much bigger, you can shop without the worry of being pushed and shoved too much.
