Mayor David Casiano released information at 5:00 p.m. December 28, 2011 that there would be a memorial service for Donna Royer at the PACE Center in Parker on Friday December 30, 2011 at 7:00 p.m.
Donna was an employee of the Town at the Recreation Center, a member of our fitness team since the winter of 2009. During this time, she was instrumental in the growing success of our CancerFit program. Since completing her CancerFit certification in 2010, Donna made a significant impact in improving the lives of cancer survivors through fitness and wellness. She also played a key role in the coordination and success of our 5K races working closely as a race committee member and assumed the large task of assisting with the administration of the SilverSneakers program. Donna was a tremendous member of our team and she will be missed by all. – David Casiano (Mayor of Parker)
Donna Royer was gunned down last night by her ex-husband in the McDonalds parking lot at Parker Rd. and Mainstreet. A few hours later the shooter Mark Royer was found dead in a field near his abandoned truck. He had shot himself. Their two daughters aged 14 and 12 are with friends and family in Parker tonight.
There has been much mis-information about this horrific incident in this close knit small town just South of Parker so we are waiting for confirmation from an official source before we share details of the memorial fund we believe is being set up for the children.
Please continue to pray for the children and family that are left behind.
The PACE Center is located just East of downtown Parker on Mainstreet at 20000 Pikes Peak Avenue, Parker, CO 80138.
