A pair of mice will be taking over the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum four days this week. Don’t worry, there’s no need for an exterminator.
The legendary arena starts the New Year off with a number of “Disney on Ice Presents Mickey and Minnie’s Magical Journey” performances daily, from Thursday, January 5, 2012, through Sunday, January, 8, 2012.
A long legacy at the Coliseum
Generations of Long Islanders have enjoyed an assortment of Disney ice shows in Uniondale dating back to the opening of the Nassau Coliseum in May 1972. This year looks to be no different. Disney always puts together a family friendly showcase that seldom disappoints.
Produced by Feld Entertainment, “Mickey and Minnie’s Magical Journey” is an amusing presentation of some classic Disney characters. Instead of featuring various second banana Disney creations, audiences can enjoy familiar favorites including The Little Mermaid, The Lion King, Lilo and Stitch, Peter Pan and 101 Dalmatians.
Family friendly at all times, the Disney on Ice website states, “Celebrate the music, beauty and laughter in a journey so magical you’ll never want to go home.”
You don’t have take Disney’s word for it. Bring out the little ones to find out for yourself. Check out the Coliseum website for details.
