Looking for some exceptionally cheesy, seriously campy, giggle-y good horror? Check out, Todd & The Book Of Pure Evil. A brilliant show with a serious 1980’s horror vibe that caters specifically to the stoners and metalheads of that era.
The storyline is basic and revolves around four students: Todd, Curtis, Jenny, and Hannah who attend Crowley High School in a small town founded by a secret sect of devil worshipers. The school is plagued by The Book Of Pure Evil, a magical compendium of satanic spells that seeks out students and coerces them into using it by granting their deepest wishes. The ‘Book’ warps each request to suit its own needs forcing Todd and the gang to spend every episode figuring out hilarious ways to undo its spells while trying to capture it. Throughout their adventures they are helped by Mr. Atticus Murphy, the schools fantastically dweeby guidance counselor, who is secretly working against them trying to capture the book for his father, the head of the secret sect of satanists.
The first episode: Todd the Metal God, premiered in September of 2010 on the Canadian science fiction channel, Space and received rave reviews. This year the US decided to get in on the fun, debuting season one on the Fearnet channel. The second season is currently being aired on the Space channel. If your looking for the show in the Tampa Bay area it is currently available on Fearnet On Demand or you can view full episodes on spacecast.com
