What makes super hero movies so appealing
With the latest super hero movie coming out May 4, we find ourselves falling for yet another super hero movie.
But what makes these movie so appealing?
For the male audience, thats an easy one. It’s got action, fighting, and some of the best special effects that you will see in any movie.
For the female audience, along with the action stuff, it’s got the super hero in tight clothing getting all sweaty and dirty. Not to mention that the heroes have more muscles then Greek gods.
But what other elements besides the obvious draws a crowd?
The fact that they are comic books before hand draw in the audience that reads them, no matter the age or gender.
But what I think draws in the crowds is that for the next 2 and 1/2 to 3 hours we can all be 8-year olds. We think back about growing up and how we used to pretend to be these characters in the backyard. We get nostalgic as we see our fantasy stories come to life, and because of CGI and 3D, it look better then in our imaginations.
And what’s wrong with that?
Super heroes have a positive message about how good always triumphs evil. About how “with great power comes great responsibility” (yes it is the quote from the 1st Spider-man movie) and how these heroes rise to call of duty and dedicate their lives to saving the world. To me, I can’t see anything wrong with that (even though some may not care for the whole damsel in distress thing).
And they show no signs of slowing down with two more movies coming out this summer (“The Dark Knight Rises” and “The Amazing Spiderman”). They also have in the works a third Ironman and a second Thor, Captain America, and X-Men First Class, I dont see this super hero trend ending anytime soon.
