Perfect for a Valentine’s Day date, the Brazos Valley Heart Ball has been scheduled for Friday, February 10, 2012. The black tie evening event will be held at Miramont Country Club in Bryan, Texas, and will feature music, dancing, a live auction, and other excitement.
Proceeds of the BV Heart Ball benefit the American Heart Association, a national volunteer health organization whose mission is to build healthy lives free from cardiovascular diseases and strokes. Each year, AHA dedicates extensive funds to health and heart research. While this year’s BV Heart Ball fundraising goal is set at a modest $150,000 organizers hope to exceed last year’s total of $200,000. Thanks to the BV Heart Ball’s Presenting Sponsor, Scott and White Healthcare, the event is already off to a solid start toward its goal. Major sponsorships for this exciting event have already been received from other organizations and individuals.
Music at the BV Heart Ball will be provided by The Buckinghams, a nationally acclaimed classic rock band originally from Chicago, and the Karen Chavis Band, a Texas group with local ties. With a dancefloor set up at the BV Heart Ball, attendees will have the chance to simply tap their toes to the beat or dance the night away.
From their iconic hit single “Kind of a Drag” in the 1960s to their presence on the 2010 and 2011 Happy Together Tours, the Buckinghams always entertain audiences with rock-solid talent, high-energy hits, crowd-pleasing favorites, and lots of fun. In 2009, the band was inducted into the Hit Parade Hall of Fame, and in 2010.
The Karan Chavis Band draws on the smooth and sultry voice of its namesake, with fabulous musical support from a talented set of musicians. From “Get Your Kicks on Route 66” to “Amarillo By Morning,” they keep crowds swaying and cheering.
So whether you have a Valentine sweetheart to bring or not, take time now to mark your calendar for the Brazos Valley Heart Ball. Tickets will be available individually or by reserved table of 10, but seating is limited and expected to sell out early. Find out more at the BV Heart Ball Facebook page. But that’s not the only way you can help. Donations made to the local district of the AHA prior to the event will count toward the BV Heart Ball’s fundraising goal.
