The 2012 Ford Focus Electric is now in production and will be coming to selected markets in the United States at the start of 2012.
Reservations for Focus Electric are now being taken in New Jersey, New York and California markets for delivery in the first half of 2012. Orders can now be placed with Certified Electric Vehicle Dealers in those markets.
Texas, including Austin, will have the 2012 Focus Electric available about midyear 2012. Other markets seeing the Focus at midyear will be in Arizona, Colorado, DC, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Massachusetts, Michigan, North Carolina, Oregon, Virginia and Washington. Information on Certified Electric Vehicle Dealers to place reservations with will be available in Spring 2012. Market updates will be made available to you electronically at your request.
Ford says that they now expect that their first ever all electric car will be the first all electric vehicle to achieve 100 miles per gallon equivalent (MPGe) fuel efficiency rating with seating for five. They add that Focus Electric will also be the first to offer faster charging technology allowing it to charge in half the time of a Nissan Leaf using 240-volt outlets.
A special version of SYNC™ MyFord Touch™ that is included with Focus Electric has been featured to enable electric owners extend range and cut electric costs using their MyFord™ Mobile smartphone application and website.
The 2012 Ford Focus Electric will sell for $39,995 well equipped. There is a $7,500 Federal Tax Credit incentive available for purchasing an all electric vehicle. There may also be other state and local incentives available based on the market purchased and operated in.
The Ford Focus Electric comes well equipped and sports most of the award winning design and performance of its fuel powered hatchback model that Focus Electric is based on.
Options available for the Focus Electric include two special colors (Blue Candy and White Platinum) at $395 additional and leather trimmed seats with a 6-way power driver seat for $995.
Focus Electric offers a host of standard safety and security features including six airbags, electronic traction control and MyKey® for North America. The Focus Electric is the industry’s first car to feature 100 percent sustainable clean technologies in interior materials, including standard seat fabrics with REPREVE®-branded fiber made from recycled plastic bottles inthe seat fabric.
Other standard features on Ford Focus Electric for North American customers include unique 15-spoke 17-inch aluminum wheels, a 60/40 split rear bench seat, push-button start, AM/FM/CD/MP3 Sony® Audio with nine speakers, SiriusXM Satellite Radio and HD Radio™. Also included is a free, three-year subscription to SYNC Services, which provides access to information about traffic, news, sports, weather, horoscopes, stock quotes and movie listings, along with business searches and turn-by-turn directions.
