It’s like telling them there’s no Santa Claus. But conservative Marylanders must come to the horrific realization that our beloved state is a lost cause for the 2012 presidential contest. No matter how hard we work, how much we give, how devoutly we pray, Maryland will go for Obama in 2012.
Including the District of Columbia, Maryland ranked seventh in the nation for highest margin of victory to Obama (just shy of 24% margin of victory). To put that in perspective, the crowned jewel of west coast liberalism, California, ranked tenth at a 22% margin of victory. See 2008 election results chart here.
I have, for six years, worked and struggled and fought the endless uphill battle against an increasingly corrupt and over-reaching Democrat monopoly in Maryland – to no avail. Every loss is a heartbreak which weakens the resolve of our rightful fight for our liberties and the cause of good government. It becomes a contest of wills to see how hard of a beating one can endure without giving up. A bull rider knows he will never defeat the bull. The best he can hope for is to hang on without being bucked off. He may claim victory for holding on for the specified time, but truly the bull never loses.
I will not waste my time, energies, and resources next year in a bull ride. What’s at stake is too important to engage in a contest for the sake of sport. For my four children, I will work where and how it can be meaningful.
Virginia has 13 electoral votes at stake and Obama had only a 5% margin of victory there. That’s a battle in which it’s worth engaging. Pennsylvania has a whopping 21 electoral votes and is within the 10 point margin of victory.
I implore all conservatives and those who otherwise share my love of country and concern for our children to join with me in a resolution. Let it be resolved that those who oppose the Alinsky socialism and Chicago-style corrupt politics embraced by President Obama will work to defeat him in other states where the outcome is less certain. If all conservatives from either deep blue or deep red states would make a commitment of monetary and manpower support to swing states, we will defeat the bull.
Working with campaign and party leadership from other states, I will be developing a database of Marylanders who are willing to work in other states in 2012. I can be reached by email at email@example.com.
