ABC’s The Bachelor 2012 will be back January 2, and fans are anxious for some Bachelor spoilers. Ben Flajnik may have left The Bachelorette brokenhearted, but it sounds like he’s ready for a great adventure as he travels the world and tries to find the woman of his dreams this season. Monday ABC released its first press release for the season, and it tantalizes viewers with some great scoop on the season. What can fans expect in the season premiere?
Of course every season starts out with the big cocktail party, and Ben Flajnik’s season is no exception. Viewers have already seen a few tidbits teased, but now ABC is sharing a bit more. Ben tells host Chris Harrison that he doesn’t have any regrets about last season, despite how painful it was to be rejected by Ashley Hebert. Ben also tells Chris that he had still been emotionally shut down amidst the grief of losing his father, but now he is open again to love. He says he’s a different man now and wants to find love.
The premiere of The Bachelor 2012 wouldn’t be right without the standard limo routine. One law student (Erika Uhlig) tells Ben he’s guilty of being sexy, while a germophobe epidemiologist (Emily O’Brien) santizies herself and Ben – then steals the season’s first kiss. As fans have seen in the first preview, one lady who steps out of the limo is rather elderly, and she professes her mad love for Ben. Of course this is one of the bachelorette’s grandmothers, but it seems Ben doesn’t clued in until later. Finally, one bachelorette chooses to arrive on horseback (Lindsey Cox) rather than step out of the limo.
Every year the cocktail party becomes more and more competitive, and this year is no exception. A sweet divorcee (Nicki Sterling) aims to make an impression, as does one easy-going bachelorette. Everybody is trying to earn Ben’s first impression rose, and viewers will see some crazy antics. ABC teases that one gal (Shawn Reynolds) starts a soccer game, a personal trainer (Elyse Myers) makes Ben do pushups, a model tries to seduce him (Courtney Robertson) and a scholar raps to him. Eek. For one apparently sensitive gal (only one this season?), it’s all just too much.
The show doesn’t make it past the first cocktail party before there are “uncontrollable tears,” as ABC teases that one bachelorette seems more interested in the other women than she is in Ben. When buzz builds and conflict ensues, one bachelorette breaks down. Reality Steve has already teased that he will be filling fans in on this topic very soon.
Ben Flajnik awards the first impression rose (believed to go to Lindsey Cox), and later in the evening he sends seven ladies home. Who will win Ben’s heart this season? Will he be the guy to break the pattern of The Bachelor final two never walking down the aisle? Tune in Monday, January 2, 2012 to see how it all gets started. The Bachelor 2012 airs on ABC, channel 15 in Scottsdale.
