Friday, January 20-21 (members only) “Sleep Under the Skyscrapers: Indoor Overnight” If you are interested in sleeping among Lincoln Park Zoo’s amazing animals, then grab your nighttime gear and join the zoo for a nocturnal, overnight adventure!
The evening begins with dinner, followed by opportunities to explore the nightlife of the zoo’s residents. Slide a hand over the scales of a blue-tongued skink at the Regenstein Small Mammal-Reptile House or watch the chimpanzees settle into their nests at Regenstein Center for African Apes. Listen to stories from zoo experts and wind down with a movie and bedtime snack before you and the rest of the zoo turn-in for the night. Families have their choice of attending just the evening’s activities OR they can stay for the entire program and spend the night at the zoo. Saturday, January 28: Crazy for Cats: Breakfast at the Zoo Feast with your favorite exotic feline at the zoo. Wednesday, February 1: Smart and Soulful Gardening FREE! Join the zoo for a free workshop exploring new ways to envision your garden for the next growing season. Re-imagining your garden is most successful when it merges creative inspiration with best gardening practices. Tuesday, Valentines’ Day, February 14: Wine and Wildlife: Animal Attractions; Those who are wild at heart (and who isn’t?), can “wow” and “woo” their loved ones. This adults only event will take place inside Regenstein African Journey. Champagne and chocolates will be serves as participants get the inside scoop on the risque’ side of animal courtship–the wild lives of wildlife; 5:30-7 p.m. or 7:30-9 p.m.; Cost is $45 ($40 for members); for participants 21 and older. Saturday, February 18: Starting Seeds: Inviting Spring Inside Starting seeds in winter may seem somewhat complicated but it isn’t. These general guidelines—along with some care and effort—will allow for a great jump on spring.
