After the highly anticipated reveal of Rubber Man this week on ‘American Horror Story’, some Flint area AHS fans offered comments this morning who are locked in yet another debate over the seemingly cold and calculating Tate (played by former Grand Blanc resident, Evan Peters) and his innocent girlfriend Violet (Taissa Farmiga). Now that we know Tate is Rubber Man, this sheds a whole different light on the boy we thought fell victim to the power of the house. It seems murder and mayhem run through his veins and Flint area fans are asking some tough questions. They want to know where Tate came from and what makes him so evil. And, is it possible Violet is already dead?
A. Nicole of Flint said:
‘I thought Tate may have some good in him somewhere and the house was responsible for him shooting up those kids. Now, I think Tate’s just pure evil. I’m wondering if he’s some sort of demon or the Antichrist. And, if Beau was Constance’s freaky kid and had hooves, was he a hybrid creature from Dr. Montgomery or another demonic figure? For all we know, Tate’s dad may be the devil himself.’
Plus, several local fans feel Tate definitely knows he’s dead, and it’s Violet who is a spirit living in limbo.
Valerie McCarty said:
‘Violet could already be dead. She had a vision of slitting her neck in the mirror and it could have really happened. Or, maybe Tate didn’t really save her after she swallowed the pills. She hasn’t been to school for 2 weeks and we haven’t seen her out of the house. It’s highly possible her spirit is tied to Tate and trapped in the house eternally. It could be that Constance and the medium were throwing Violet off and it’s her spirit that’s really walking around in childlike confusion.’
Violet did tell her father the darkness is pulling her under. She is adamantly against selling the house. She’s spent a lot of time in the basement lately. She hasn’t been in school in two weeks, and this week, she is very mean and aggressive towards her father, who can see she’s troubled and tries to help her. So, either way, things seem to be taking a toll on her. And, Ben (Dylan McDermott) sees Tate and he’s a ghost. So, it’s possible he sees the ghost of his own daughter and doesn’t know she’s dead.
Plus, if Tate really loves Violet, why would he want to team up with Hayden to hurt her mother and ship her off to a mental institution? Perhaps so he can have Violet all to himself. Kristie R. of Flint weighed in this morning with this comment:
‘I don’t think Violet is necessarily dead right now. But Tate could be planning some sort of romantic ritualistic death for her, to make sure she never leaves. He already told her if she admits to seeing ghosts they’ll lock her up and take her away from him forever. Maybe he’s going to do something to make sure she stays with him eternally.’
Tate did kill Chad and Patrick in a very violent way and set it up to make it look like murder/suicide. We also know that he thought it was romantic they died in the house together. He claims to be in love with Violet, yet he’s going to great lengths to please other women in the house, like Hayden (Kate Mara) and Nora. So, he got Vivien (Connie Britton) pregnant to give her babies to them. And, he goes along with Hayden’s wish to get Vivien out of the house, so he terrorizes her and rapes her. Violet is too caught up in her delusional love for Tate to see the monster that he really is. That could turn out to be a fatally dangerous mistake.
Here are some other points:
Constance (Jessica Lange) said she had 4 children, three were monsters and one was beautiful. Tate looks beautiful on the outside, but he’s got the heart of a cold blooded killer. Addie had Down Syndrome and Beau was horribly disfigured. It could be that Addie has a beautiful heart and she’s the beautiful one. Who and where is child number 4? Is Constance herself a demon if she produced children like Tate and Beau? Or, is their father a demon or the devil?
In the middle of all this, Vivien is feeding the ‘creatures’ in her womb raw brains and not batting an eyelash. And, the ultrasound nurse fainted and left her job looking at whatever is inside Viven’s womb. Then all of a sudden, another doctor tells her she’s having twins and all is well. Something doesn’t add up there…
Plus, Vivien mistakes Ben for an intruder and shoots him. But, he mysteriously appears fine. How was the wound treated? Is he really dead too?
From the looks of next week’s preview, Constance is furious with Tate for some reason and religion is coming into play. Is it because he helped conceive the devil incarnate? David H. of Flint said:
‘If Tate implanted something grotesque and inhuman in Vivien’s womb, that’s got to mean he’s more than just the ghost of a schizophrenic boy. There’s got to be a supernaturally evil element somewhere in Tate’s soul. Ultimately, I think Constance holds the key to all of the answers and we just have to find out what that is.’
Evan Peters continues to pull us even deeper into Tate’s black hole and Taissa Farmiga makes us root for Violet, who at this point seems doomed and way in over her disturbed but pretty little head. Until we get some answers, the local debate has no choice but to linger.
