Thanksgiving is not turning out to be a rather good one when it comes to “American Idol” contestants performing at various events around America.
Only a matter of hours after Scotty McCreery was caught lip-synching during the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade (which is not too big of a shocker since everyone does it), Lauren Alaina made a mistake singing the National Anthem at the Detroit Lions’ game against the Green Bay Packers.
What happened? Early in the song, Lauren got choken up briefly after singing one of the lyrics wrong, but quickly started again thanks to some applause from the audience.
How much play do you think this story is going to get in the press? There’s certainly one person who has Lauren’s back in Kelly Pickler — and she posted the following on Twitter to prove it:
“IN A TIME WHERE BULLYING IS AT ITS WORST I’M SO DISAPPOINTED THAT GROWN MEN & WOMEN ARE RIPPING APART A 17YR OLD. WHEN PEOPLE FALL…YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO HELP THEM UP, NOT KICK EM’ FURTHER DOWN. DO UNTO OTHERS AS YOU WOULD HAVE THEM DO UNTO YOU. BE KIND.”
