This week on America’s Next Top Model All-Stars, the girls arrive home from the previous week’s panel, and are greeted with Lisa’s winning photo on the flat screen TV. She comments that it’s great to be on top again, but it’s hard to stay there.
Time for Tyra mail!
This Tyra mail is different than any other, in that it isn’t a text message, but a video message featuring Internet Phenomenon “Madison,” who gives them a makeup lesson. After she’s done, she says that while her makeup lesson is free, she hopes they can keep a beat. Hmmm…. What could that mean?
The next day, the girls are greeted by Mr. Jay, who comes to their house to give them their challenge. He says that it’s important to take your celebrity up a notch, and the best way to do that is by going viral. He tells them that they will be writing a song and starring in their own music video. Tom Polce, who Mr. Jay introduces as the music producer, from CBS records will be helping the girls write their songs. They will start with tracks that have been written specifically for them, and then they will have 20 minutes to write lyrics for the track. The winner will get to have a loved one flown in.
The girls all get to work, and Tom goes to each of them and offers some help. Allison specifically has a problem, while Lisa is super confident, as she has written and recorded music before. When time is up, Tom talks to the girls saying that he felt there were two stand-outs — Lisa and Angelea. In the end, it is Lisa who is the challenge winner, and she will have her finance flown in to visit.
The next day, the girls head out to The Village, where they will record their songs and music videos. They meet Tom once more, and he tells them that stars like The Rolling Stones, Jennifer Lopez and Lady Gaga have recorded there.
But you knew Tyra wouldn’t just leave it as that. She had to throw in another thing for the girls to do. Tom tells them that Tyra wants them to incorporate the phrase “Pot Ledom. That’s Top Model backwards” into their songs.
The girls each take turns taping their vocals, and Angelea is first. She has a really good voice. Lisa comments that she’s going to go last, because she doesn’t want anyone to copy her style. Oh brother.
Not all the girls are singers, namely Shannon and Laura. But, they all seem to have fun with it. Allison is worried how her recording will go, and she’s nearly having a meltdown as she waits for her turn to record.
Back at the house, Lisa’s fiancé, Adam arrives to visit with Lisa. While Lisa is loud and crazy, Adam is really quiet and reserved.
The next day, it’s time for the girls to go record their videos. Mr. Jay meets them there, and he tells them it’s important to sell it with their videos. They go to hair and makeup, and then Mr. Jay brings in Game, who is a rapper, and he will be directing them. Angelea is having a meltdown, she’s so excited to meet him. It’s too funny.
Dominique has a really good taping, and Game has some good things to say about her. Alexandria, however was very awkward, and Mr. Jay called her rigid, and said she stunned Game to silence.
Time for a break from taping. Mr. Jay brings the girls together and then Tyra comes in the room dressed in a crazy yellow outfit with “Pot Ledom” on the front. Mr. Jay says that he thought it would be fun if Tyra was in each of the girls’ videos. She tells them she’ll be like their posse, but she can’t do it alone, so she brings in another internet phenomenon, Keenan Cahill, who has over 100,000,000 hits on his YouTube page. They will be interjected into each of the videos, but the girls won’t see the final results until panel.
Shannon’s scene is very romantic, as her song is about her husband. Lisa is high energy, and her song is really catchy. She’s thinking she’s got this challenge in the bag.
Angelea has some problems with her video, and Game has to take her aside to ask her to really sell it with her song.
Before Allison does her video, Game goes over to her to talk to her about the inspiration of her song, which she tells him is about her father, who passed away the previous year. He reveals to her that he knows how she feels because his own grandmother passed away when he was just in high school, and she always was the only one who had confidence that he could be more than just a bum. Allison appreciated the talk from Game, saying that she didn’t think he needed to do that. Game thinks Allison’s face looks like a work of art. He’s totally in love with her.
Time for panel. Tyra introduces Nigel Barker, Andre Leon Talley and guest judge Game. The girls are critiqued as follows:
Dominique is first, and she looks amazing. Tyra thinks she looks like a “S-T-A-R,” but Game says that she looks like a Jalonce.. a little Ja-Lo, and a little Beyonce.
Laura is next. Her video is super cute, like a Taylor Swift vibe. Nigel calls it adorable. ALT thinks it is “giddy, fun and charming,” but you can tell he doesn’t really like it.
Angelea is next. She looks kind of dead in the eyes. ALT thinks it is flat. Tyra says that she feels that this is an angry song, and she looked blank.
Alexandria is next. She looks robotic in her video. Game told her that she looked incredible, the dress was great, car was great, but he didn’t feel like he wanted to “go” anywhere.
Shannon is next. She looks all smiley and doesn’t have a lot of emotion in her eyes. Nigel thinks she doesn’t have anything in her eyes.
Lisa is next. ALT loves it, and compares her energy to that of Miss Elliott. He also loves her lyrics. Tyra thinks this is a song that could be on the radio.
Allison is next. Everyone seems to love it, but I don’t get it. It’s just a lot of close-ups of her huge eyes with some really exaggerated makeup to make them look even bigger. The lyrics are weird too, “1-2-3-4 underwater.” Huh? Game calls her “weird,” but it’s the greatest thing in the world for her. He says she’s the most weirdly beautiful person that he’s ever seen in his life. I think Game’s in love. J
It’s time for the judges to deliberate. The call-outs are as follows:
The bottom two are Angelea and Alexandria. The judges think Alexandria has a lot of potential, and that is why she was brought back as an all-star. But, she is only showing model in the video. It’s the third time Angelea has been in the bottom two, and the judges felt her video made them uncomfortable. Who will stay? Angelea. Alexandria is going home.
Next week, the models find out where they will be going internationally. The location is Greece, and one of the girls has a problem with modeling underwear. Poor Laura is sick during her photo shoot. Tune in next Wednesday, to find out what will happen, and who will be the next All-star to go home.
