The good news is that Andre Johnson will be back on the field Sunday in the season finale against the Titans.
The bad news, and it’s a stretch to call it that, is Andre will be on a play count.
When asked how many plays Andre would play on Sunday, Gary Kubiak said “I don’t know. Put it this way, it won’t be 30 or 40.”
Johnson said he hasn’t had any issues with the hamstrings this week.
“I haven’t had any problems with it this week,” said Johnson. “Everything’s been going fine. Everything’s been pretty normal, so hopefully it will stay that way.”
So expect to see Andre out there for about 20 plays max, just as we guessed earlier this week.
Johnson has played in only six games this season and needs to knock off some rust prior to the Texans playoff game next weekend.
Texans starting right guard Mike Brisiel is doing ‘amazing’ according to Kubiak.
“(Brisiel is) doing amazing,” said Kubiak. “He’s two and a half weeks from having a pin inserted in his leg and he’s out here running yesterday. Danieal (Manning) came back off that same surgery. So, I wouldn’t put it past (Brisiel) to be ready to go next week (for the playoff game), but I think there’s still some progress to be made and so let’s wait until we get there.”
Brisiel suffered a fractured fibula in the first half against the Bengals on December 11 but it didn’t stop him from finishing the game. If Howie Long is still doing those “Tough Guy” awards, Brisiel definitely deserves consideration.
