Atlanta has it all for Christmas: A touch of class, community events and a rock theater.
Add a touch of class to your pre Christmas celebrations. My Fair Lady acclaimed as the world’s greatest musical will open December 8 – 11 at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Center, a premium venue with its on-site parking. It is located in northwest Atlanta, at 2800 Cobb Galleria Parkway at Akers Mill Road, adjacent to I-75 inside I-285.
Big League Productions Inc. presents a sparkling new production of this musical. Based on Shaw’s play and Pascal’s movie “Pygmalion,” with book music and lyrics by Lerner and Loewe, MY FAIR LADY is triumphant. With “Wouldn’t It Be Loverly?”, “With a Little Bit of Luck”, “The Rain in Spain”, “I Could Have Danced All Night”, “On the Street Where You Live”, “Get Me to the Church on Time” and “I’ve Grown Accustomed to Her Face”, it’s no wonder everyone – not just Henry Higgins – falls in love with Eliza Doolittle.
It is hard to imagine a more popular musical. The show’s 1956 Broadway production was a smash hit, a hit London production, a popular film version starring Audrey Hepburn-which won eight Academy Awards, and numerous revivals. It has been called “the perfect musical.”
