Bones continued its seventh season on Fox 5 in Queens Thursday night with “The Prince in the Plastic.” Along with solving a case, Sweets was determined to become certified to carry a gun and Brennan continued to prepare for her baby’s arrival.
The victim was an employee of a toy company and had come up with a few top-selling ideas. The suspects included her brother, another employee, Prince Charmington, and the CEO. It wasn’t that surprising that the CEO ended up being the murderer. She hadn’t wanted the victim to leave since she was very profitable for the company. The things someone will do when a vital member of a company tries to leave. Money is always a strong motive, and that was no different with this case. Though that’s usually a motive in a murder, this case wasn’t too predictable.
“Do you have any idea how many fatal bear maulings occur in North America every year?”
“You’re not going to talk to the baby like that.”
“Well, I’m certainly not going to encourage her to play with bears.”
“Okay, no bears. Bears are out.”
Angela tried to get Brennan to play, but it didn’t go so well as she instead talked about the poor condition of Prince Charmington. Meanwhile, Angela was having trouble putting together a walking toy because the instructions were terrible. When she went to return it, she asked Brennan to join her, and it was then that Brennan understood the concept of play as she and Michael both were amused by one toy. The episode ended with Brennan and Booth having fun. It was nice to see Brennan adapting as she realizes she’s going to have to play with her daughter, and you had to love Booth telling her that she’ll at least be able to relate to the half of their daughter that’s him. Of course she started thinking about dissecting a frog with her. Brennan also helped him through getting attached to the victim—you could tell he related: suffering through childhood, finally making something of herself—but she said they’d find the murderer.
“Lancelot is the kindest, most decent man I’ve ever known. Why shouldn’t he carry a piece?”
While Daisy was upset over what had happened to the Prince Charmington doll, Sweets was determined to be certified to carry a gun, but he had to convince Booth first. Booth therefore took over his certification because it was the only way he could be reassured about him backing him up in the field. In the end, Sweets was certified, and Daisy found that very attractive. He insisted it was the last time they’d have sex in his office. Sometimes these two can be too cute, but this episode did show that giving Daisy that second try was a good idea. She was the one to find the murder weapon and where the victim was murdered. She may not be your favorite squintern (especially after Finn’s introduction in last week’s episode) and though she can be annoying at times, she can do her job. Will Daisy and Sweets’ relationship last this time? It was sweet that he imagined he was protecting her during his certification test. Will they make it to the altar anytime in the future?
