Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party brings after-hours holiday fun to the Magic Kingdom, but the dates are very limited. The party starts when the Magic Kingdom closes, so it only runs through December 18 because the Christmas crowds start to get very heavy after that date. That means it’s not practical to close the park early for a special event, so the party ends for another year.
To see the remaining dates for 2011, click here for the official website. Party tickets can be purchased in advance, and I highly recommend doing so because the event often sells out. That means disappointment if you try to buy them on the day of the party.
What is Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party all about? Imagine sipping hot cocoa while you watch real snow fall on Main Street USA. Imagine meeting the characters dressed up in their holiday finest and watching a special parade, fireworks, and projection show on Cinderella Castle. With all of that, the shorter lines that result from a limited number of ticket sales is just a bonus.

The Osborne Christmas Lights are over at Disney’s Hollywood Studios this year, as usual, but did you know there’s a black cat hidden among the Christmas decor?
