There are a few things that make Boston one of the greatest cities in the United States: History, professional sports, renown accents, and drinking. Boston has some of the greatest bars and pubs in the nation thanks to the heavy Irish heritage and presence still very prominent in the city. Located in the Back Bay on Boylston St. directly across from the Hynes Convention Center, next door to Berklee College of Music, and “1,200 steps away from Fenway Park and the Boston House of Blues” is arguably one of the most famous (infamous) Irish pubs within city limits, McGreevy’s — “home of the Dropkick Murphys” and “America’s FIRST sports bar.” No doubt the folks at McGreevy’s are aware of their impact on Boston’s culture and they just so happen to love Call of Duty.
Every Thursday at 8:00 PM, McGreevy’s hosts what they call College Night which consists of $3 PBR, $5 pizza, and Head-to-Head Modern Warfare 3 tournaments on a huge projection screen. For me, the bigger the screen, the more difficult it is for me to play well. My theory is that my eyes need to cover more surface area just as quickly as on the 32″ TV I play on at home. It’s also worth mentioning that projectors aren’t known for high definition and I am so used to playing in HD that when I don’t, everything appears blurry and makes it more difficult to land a bullet in an opponent’s dome.
Ahhh, but what does it mattah? We’re all here to have a wicked good time, drink some beeah, and play the best selling game in history with our friends and neighbahs.
