Family friendly, the Brevard Zoo is always a great place to visit. Over the holidays, the zoo is especially beautiful and entertaining. Visit the Zoo during the Holiday Season for fun festivites for the whole family.
This December in the Paws On area of the Zoo, guests can enjoy daily activities such as solving the monthly mystery, doing crafts, enjoying story time, and more.December 21 to 23 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day, the Zoo will give gifts to the animals. In addition, the Zoo will host Santa and Mrs. Claus from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. each day and provide games and crafts for the kids. All activities are free with Zoo admission. The Zoo is closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas Day. Keep reading for more information about the special events planned.
Holiday Shopping Night Hike
On December 17, Brevard Zoo is offering a great night where children can shop for everyone on their holiday list in the Zoo’s Gift Shop. Children ages 4 – 12 will go on a night hike safari, make crafts, and have pizza for dinner. And while the children are busy, parents can use their free time to shop, wrap gifts, or just enjoy a little uninterrupted quiet time.
Children may be dropped off at 5 p.m. and must be picked up by 9 p.m. The cost is $20 for members and $25 for non-members. Gifts to the Animals
What better time to teach youngsters the true gift of giving than the holidays. From December 21 – 23, between the hours of 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. the Zoo will present gifts to the zoo’s residents. The following schedule will be used:
- Wednesday, December 21
- 11 a.m. Caracara, Wild Florida
- 12 p.m. Siamangs, Just west of Africa
- 2 p.m. Klipspringer Yard, Expedition Africa
- Thursday, December 22
- 11 a.m. Jaguar, La Selva
- 12 p.m. Kangaroo Yard, Australasia
- 2 p.m. Petting Zone Animals, Paws On
- Friday, December 23
- 11 a.m. Rhinos, Expedition Africa
- 12 p.m. Visayan Warty Pigs, Australasia
- 2:00 p.m. Otters, Wild Florida
In addition, the Zoo will host Santa and Mrs. Claus from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. each day at the Flamingo Cafe. There will also be special animal encounters at the Main Entrance at 10:30 a.m. & 2:30 p.m., and games and crafts in Paws On from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. . These activities are free with Zoo admission. December 27 – 30 Winter Camp: Animal Adaptations
School is out between Christmas and New Years and Brevard Zoo has an excellent option for parents to consider. Open to children ages Kindergarten – Grade 6, campers will investigate why animals need the adaptations they have and how they aid in their survival. A fun-filled camp with loads of activities, crafts, games, animal encounters, and more. Children may be dropped off at 8:30 a.m. and must be picked up by 4 p.m. The cost is $165 for zoo members and $185 for non-members.
New Year’s Eve Twilight Spectacular Overnight
Kids ages 7 – 12 are invited to ring in the New Year with their animal friends. Several surprises are being planned and details will be available closer to December 31. One thing is for sure, Brevard Zoo never disappoints and that makes this a great holiday gift for either children or grandchildren. Children may be dropped off at 5 p.m. and must be picked up by 10 a.m. the following morning. The cost is $55 for members and $65 for non-members.
