If you want to serve on a Bureau of Land Management (BLM) advisory committee, you may have to fill out a new form. BLM is seeking approval from the Office of Management & Budget and is taking public comment on a proposed new Federal Advisory Committee Background Information Nomination Form.
Anyone applying for a seat on a committee would have to complete the form. Applicants would have to list their “education, training, and experience related to possible service on advisory committees,” according to BLM’s announcement.
BLM estimates getting about 200 applications a year for the various committees. It would use the form for the next three years before considering renewal or modification of it.
You can comment on the proposed form until February 27. See http://www.gpo.gov/fdsys/pkg/FR-2011-12-28/html/2011-33233.htm.
