This outdoor holiday market in Czech Village will feature vendors selling gift and food items, holiday entertainment, and horse drawn carriage rides. Food and beverage offerings will include hot chocolate, hot cider, hot apple pie drinks, Christmas chowder, hot sandwiches, and homemade cookies.

Oelwein’ s annual holiday festival offers many opportunities for food lovers. Sample chocolate treats at participating Oelwein businesses on the Chocolate Walk from 4-8pm (also Saturday, December 3, from 10am–2pm); taste a variety of chili and vote on your favorite at the Chili Cook-Off at the Community Plaza from 4-7pm (admission $1); or make s’mores with the volunteer fire department at the Marshmallow Roast on W. Charles Street next to the Chamber building from 4-7pm.

7th Annual Chili Challenge with Quality Chef Foods

The Cedar Rapids Freedom Festival hosts its annual Chili Challenge fundraiser during the Cedar Rapids Fire and Ice Festival. Downtown businesses, including Whitestar Ale House, Prairie Soup Company, Red’s Public House, Dublin City Pub, and Sub King Deli, and Kirkwood Community College culinary students will provide samples of their chili and compete for your votes. Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for children and includes chili, beverage and cookies.
