Robert D. Champion is a Champion! The practice of hazing stops here, with the death of a Champion.
Robert Champion is a Champion! This must be where the buck stops on “hazing”. Not with me, but with the death of a young life. I have never allowed myself to get involved emotionally with the horror of hazing, until now. Sometimes the pain of things done by people to other people is just too painful to take in. I have a tendency to guard my heart from some of it. It’ just too painful with everything going on in the world similar to this kind of thing, of people inflicting pain on other people. Prayer warrior fatigue. Guard your heart!
But this is not “the world”. This is America, and something about this story made me want to say something. “Speak out for the one who cannot speak, for the rights of those who are doomed.” Proverbs 31:8. The new living translation says “Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves; ensure justice for those being crushed. For Robert Champion it’s too late. But he was the same age as my son. That right there caught my attention. And his muscles were beaten so much so, similar to someone being in a car accident. He was a college student, a drum major, on a bus, and he died. There was no bus accident. He did not died of some illness. He died at the hands of fellow “friends”? ….allegedly. This is sickening. This is not right. This “hazing” has got to stop. What ever fun people have with this so called ritual whoever participates in this disgusting practice are morons. Colleges and Universities that allow this should be shut down! I’m serious. Why do we allow this in America? Because it’s politically correct to allow fraternities, the so called elite of the elite of the college students to get away with potential murder just because it’s been a practice for years.
They are investigating and no one has been charged! How bout the entire bus load be charged including the driver. If any were innocent on that bus they need to come forward and speak up or be charged! All of them. How difficult is this to figure out!
Robert’s parents have begun a Facebook Page in honor of their son and are now on a quest to change this practice of hazing, Drum Major for Change! Robert D. Champion. Go there! “Like”! Send your love, prayers and support. This man had a future! This son was loved! This college student was brilliant! Read the story HERE at the Orlando Sentinel…and HERE at the New York Daily News. Weep! This child of God was somebody! Hazing has got to stop! Now!
Colleges and Universities are NOT for these kinds of idiotic, stupid, moronic things! Yes! They need to be humiliated for this disgusting practice. And any college or University President that has allowed this to go on needs to be held accountable also. Who are Universities that they are so elite and confined that they get to go unpunished. These are suppose to be halls of “Higher education”. I don’t remember these things happening back when I went to college. We had fun, partied till our guts fell out but we didn’t participate in hazing. STOP HAZING NOW!
God bless, comfort and hold the family of Robert D. Champion in His hands. God bless you Robert I know you are in the arms of the angels and Jesus! Hazing stops with you Robert D. Champion!
