Contrary to passe public opinion, God is not dead. Interest in God has grown in the recent decades. This past year saw a surge in some churches in Worcester, while others are ready to shut down.
Bethlehem Bible Church is a case in point. After years of steady membership with little numeric growth, the past few years have seen a spike in baptisms and membership.
It may seem odd for popular attraction to this church for a number of reasons: It is tucked away in a rather rustic location. It does not preach a people-pleasing message. Rather, it’s message is the offensive Gospel.
The Good News seems to draw a specific demographic: Those are awakened to their need of radical spiritual surgery. These people come from afar to hear God’s message in the Bible.
Another means of spreading the word is in the air-waves. NoCo Radio majors on uncompromising truth. It attacks today’s complacent views on religion and spirituality. Yet, this ancient mode of information-disbursement is now drawing many to the church.
Christians major on individual spiritual growth. They also want many to know Christ. Yet, they cannot compromise God’s message for greater numbers. When God opens his people’s eyes to the truth, the offensive message becomes incredibly sweet to them.
Here is our 2012 Greetings: May many in 2012 see God in unbiased light for the first time. May God’s churches faithfully preach the truth. May God’s kingdom grow by God’s own efforts. May we go along for an exciting ride this year!
