All Hazards NOAA Weather Radio | Live Chicago Weather Updates
Rain fell as winds with gust higher than 40 mph whipped across the area Saturday/Saturday night ahead of a storm system that had high temperatures recorded Sunday morning 10-15 degrees above normal for this time of year.
Temperatures fell thoughout the day from the 50s Sunday morning into the 30s by Sunday evening, after a cold front passed over the area late Sunday morning. That storm system that brought us rain/wind on Saturday along with mild temps that lingered into Sunday morning is now east of us.
Caught in between two pressure systems, a high pressure to our northwest and a low pressure system to our east, winds have turned northerly and will ride across the warm 40+ degree lake waters today bringing the chance for rain and or snow showers to the area. Much of the area could see some rain/snow showers but most will be confined to areas along the lake particularly downwind Lake Michigan. Other than the chance for rain/snow, clouds will dominate the area today.
A reinforcing shot of cooler air will arrive midweek bringing temperatures to levels below the average for this time of year. There is a slight chance for light snow late Thursday and Friday.
Monday: Cloudy with lake effect rain/snow showers. Highs in the upper 30s or lower 40s. Winds north-northeast 10-20 mph.

Wednesday: Mostly sunny, breezy, and slightly warmer. Highs in the lower to mid 30s. Winds west 5-15 mph.
Thursday: Partly to mostly cloudy and cool. Chance for light snow. Highs in the lower to mid 30s. Winds northwest 5-15 mph.
Friday:Mostly cloudy and cold. Chance for light snow. Highs in the upper 20s to lower 30s. Winds northwest 5-15 mph.
Saturday: Partly cloudy becoming warmer. Highs in the mid 30s. Winds west 5-15 mph.
