By now, we all know what Cyber Monday is. The genius behind it is that it is merely a marketing term for the Monday immediately following Black Friday, which is the Friday following Thanksgiving Day. It was created by companies to influence people to do their holiday shopping online. Now six years old, Cyber Monday has become one of the biggest online shopping days of the year.
As the season to be jolly is upon us, we must also watch out for the cybers scammers and the cyber hackers. As you shop from your computer or your mobile phone, you should be aware of certain red flags when shopping. Untrustworthy websites will have all sorts of deals that seem to good to be true. If you see an ad for the IPad on sale for $19.99, then that should be a red flag. I have seen these sites and to get the IPad for under 20 bucks, you must first buy, what seems like, thousands of dollars of products and/or services in order to “qualify” for the grand prize, the IPad.
Second, watch out for fake online charities. Many cyberthiefs know how to tug on those heart strings as this is the season of “giving”. Before giving to any charity online, make sure you check out the Federal Trade Commission official website for legit charities. I would point you to the Charities and Donors section of the Better Business Bureau but I have my own biases against the BBB so I will leave that to you to extend your research.
Lastly, watch out for the cyber monday deal mobile applications. This is such a hot and growing market, it’s hard to tell what’s real and what is not real. This has become an easy way to transmit your phones’ data to cyber-criminals. Before you download any app to your phone make sure you install a mobile security product that offers a firewall to protect your personal details on your cell phone.
Now for some good news. First, for everyone in the home business industry looking for great Cyber Monday deals, I do recommend two programs that would make great computers stuffers for your business. If you needs more people to talk to, IE Leads, and more cash for your business, I highly recommend watching these free videos. Second, if you are hands on and want a good read to grow your business this holiday season, I recommend taking a look at My First Year Online In Network Marketing. In full disclosure, it is a book I authored that discusses everything you may encounter online in your first year. Since there is a steep learning curve about building a business online, you will be well ahead of the game knowing what to expect.
Happy Holidays to you and your family and Happy Birthday to my little girl, Morgan Emani.
