Looking to save money on dairy this weekend?Pick’n Save stores have their Roundy’s chunk cheese in 8-ounce packages at 3 for $4.98– that’s $1.66 each. But Piggly Wiggly has a coupon for 8-ounce packages of Crystal Farms cheese for 99¢ this week, if you buy at least $5 worth of other groceries. Both stores require the use of your affinity card to get these prices.
Pick’n Save has Roundy’s cream cheese at $1 for an 8-ounce brick. Piggly Wiggly has Food Club cream cheese at 99¢ for an 8-ounce brick.
If you’r looking for Greek yogurt, Pick’n Save has Dannon’s individual serving package for a dollar, Piggly Wiggly has Nostimo Greek yogurt for 89¢ for an individual cup, and Balistreri’s Sendik’s stores have Chobani Greek yogurt at 89¢ for the same size.
Interested in sour cream? Pick’n Save has Daisy in the 16-ounce carton for $1.50. (They also have Roundy’s cottage cheese at the same price, also for 16 ounces.) Piggly Wiggly has Food Club sour cream at 99¢.
If herring is a mandatory part of your New Year’s celebration, the best price around may be local brand Ma Baensch’s at Piggly Wiggly for only $2.49 a pound (both the sour cream and the wine sauce varieties). This is much less expensive than buying it by the jar at Pick’n Save.
Other huge bargains involve this week’s coupons at Piggly Wiggly. With your Pig card and a separate $5 or larger purchase, this week’s circular contains a coupon for a gallon of Piggly Wiggly milk for $1.89 (there’s a limit of one), another for a one-pound loaf of fresh baked French bread for 99¢ (again, there’s a limit of one), and another for Jack’s original or half & half pizza for $2 (there’s a limit of five).
Comparison shop, and you’ll see that Pick’n Save has Lean Cuisine frozen dinners for $2 each– but Piggly Wiggly has another one of those coupons that prices them at seven for $10 when you buy seven (with a limit of seven). That mean’s you’ll be paying $1.43 apiece for them at the Pig.
Happy new year, and happy savings!
