To open the show, the pros and Troupe members performed, and the stars all came out with their partners.
Next up was Lady Antebellum, who sang a song off their new album, called “Dancin’ Away with my Heart,” while Kym, Dmitry, Val, and Peta danced.
The final three couples danced for the judges’ scores one last time by choosing one dance to repeat. Their scores were not revealed until after all three couples had danced, as they would then compare each of the dancers and rank them 1-3.
For their favorite dance, Ricki and Derek performed their Psycho-themed Tango again. Len loved it, Bruno called it a cinematic extravaganza, and Carrie Ann said Ricki proved she is a fighter who never gives up. (Carrie Ann: ; Len: ; Bruno: ; Total: /30)
Rob and Cheryl chose to dance their Foxtrot again. Bruno said Rob has improved beyond everyone’s expectations. Carrie Ann said it was elegant and graceful. Len said Rob has the best footwork of virtually any guy he’s seen on the show. (Carrie Ann: ; Len: ; Bruno: ; Total: /30)
J.R. and Karina were last and chose to perfect their Jive by removing the lift and Lindy Hop steps. Carrie Ann said J.R. had a little trouble during the dance. Len took a moment to compliment the band and singers and was happy to see J.R. take out the Lindy. Bruno said it was energetic, fast-paced, and fun, fun, fun. (Carrie Ann: ; Len: ; Bruno: ; Total: /30)
Rob and Cheryl received 26 points in 3rd place, J.R. and Karina were second with 28 points, and Ricki and Derek were 1st with all 30 points. This left Ricki and Derek at the top of the Leaderboard, with 84 points, Rob and Cheryl with 83 points, and J.R. and Karina with 82 points.
We then saw a short blooper reel of the judges, which was nothing too exciting.
After the commercial break, they revealed the third place finishers: Surprisingly, it was Ricki and Derek.
This left J.R. and Karina and Rob and Cheryl to dance an Instant Samba to “Shake Your Bon Bon” by Ricky Martin.
While they prepared, Metta and Peta and Elisabetta and Val returned to the dance floor. After them, Kristin and Mark returned with a brand new routine. To remind Chynna of her humiliating last dance, they showed the footage of when she forgot her place. She and Tony then performed that same dance to redeem themselves. (This time, she didn’t forget her steps).
Brooke quickly checked in with J.R. and Karina before Carson and Anna danced to “Vogue,” by Madonna. Nancy and Tristan returned with their ever-so-pleasant Spamalot-themed dance.
It was time for Brooke to check in with Rob and Cheryl, before Chaz, Lacey, and Lacey’s dad, Buddy, took the floor for a dance together. Then, David and Kym performed their Grease-themed dance with the Troupe.
Lady Antebellum returned to perform “Need You Now” while the Troupe danced. (The Troupe sure was busy tonight!)
Hope and Maks then returned, along with their umbrellas, to perform their very pleasant Quickstep.
Finally, it was time for J.R. and Karina and Rob and Cheryl to perform their Instant Sambas and receive their final remarks and scores from the judges. Len said well done and gave them each a standing ovation. Bruno said J.R. could turn it on at will and that it was full on party time. He told Rob he really knows how to shake his bon bon. Carrie Ann said both of them are winners and it was a great way to end the season.
J.R. and Karina got a perfect 30, for a total of 112 points for four rounds. Rob and Cheryl also received a perfect 30, giving them 113 points for all four rounds.
And, finally, the champions were revealed: J.R. and Karina, making this her first victory on the show.
