The topic of the calculated smearing of U.S. Congressman Lt. Col. Allen West, a black, extremely pro-Israel Republican representing a district South Florida, as an “anti-Semite” may have slipped the attention of many, given the Christmas and Hanukkah season. Nevertheless, the Page 2 section of MichaelSavage.com is currently featuring a link carrying a headline of “Dems and uber-liberal Jews try to destroy hero Rep. West (Palm Peach Post).”
According to the December 20 Palm Beach Post article, written by George Bennett, which is linked to by the MichaelSavage.com headline, and which has the pseudo-neutral title “GOP-controlled House kills Democratic resolution condemning West for Goebbels remark”:
The Republican-controlled House of Representatives today killed a Democratic resolution condemning U.S. Rep. Allen West, R-Plantation, for saying last week that Nazi propaganda minister Joseph Goebbels would be “very proud of the Democrat Party, because they have an incredible propaganda machine.”
U.S. Rep. Donna Edwards, D-Md. [who is black and an extreme leftist], introduced the resolution while the House was grappling with whether to extend a payroll tax cut that expires Jan. 1.
In a procedural vote that went largely along party lines, the House voted 231-188 to table Edwards’ motion. West and U.S. Rep. Tom Rooney, R-Tequesta, joined most of the GOP caucus on the prevailing side.
U.S. Reps. Ted Deutch [who is a secular Jew and an extreme leftist], D-Boca Raton, and Alcee Hastings [who is black and an extreme leftist, and who, as a Federal judge, was impeached and removed, by a 413-3 U.S. House vote], D-Miramar, joined a unanimous Democratic caucus in voting against tabling the measure. Three Republicans — Reps. Robert Dold and Timothy Johnson of Illinois and Walter Jones of North Carolina – joined Democrats in opposing the motion to table.
West made the remark about Goebbels and the Democratic “propaganda machine” while criticizing Democratic efforts to blame Republicans for gridlock in Congress.
Additionally, according to Bennett:
The [leftist-thinking-it’s-fooling-people-by-masquerading-as-a-Jewish-“civil rights”-organization] American Jewish Committee and the [leftist-thinking-it’s-fooling-people-by-masquerading-as-a-Jewish-“civil rights”-organization] Anti-Defamation League were among those criticizing West’s comments …
… [The] resolution says West’s remark “thoroughly belittles the horrors and suffering experienced by the victims and survivors of the Holocaust” and calls West’s conduct “repugnant.”
For the record, Jewish Culture Examiner, who pretty much does his best to be observantly Jewish, and who lost numerous relatives in the Holocaust, believes that Joseph Goebbels would be very proud of the Democrat Party, because, among other reasons, it has an incredible propaganda machine. (Additionally, the Democrat Party – aided and abetted by all too many “useful idiot” Jews — is doing quite a bit to help weaken Israel).
The Holocaust was of course led by a German political party known commonly referred to as “the Nazis” but which actually is translated as the National SOCIALIST [emphasis added] Party.
And speaking of “repugnant,” American Jewish Committee Executive Director David Harris, along with embattled Anti-Defamation League leader-for-the-last-24-years Abraham Foxman, recently attempted, before backing off following criticism, to have Republicans sign a “unity pledge” designed to shield Barack Obama and the Democratic Party from criticism for their anti-Israel policies.
The ostentatious outrage by Foxman is ironic, given that in recent years he ordered the firing a New England regional ADL director who had the audacity to suggest that the Turkish (and Kurdish) Muslim extermination of up to 1.5 million Armenian Christians during World War I should be acknowledged as a “genocide,”
Foxman has been under fire recently for many issues beyond his attempt to minimize the memory of the Armenian Genocide.
In late summer this year, Foxman was blasted for an op-ed piece which suggested that those considered about the rise of sharia law have sinister, basically — to use a beyond-tired term — racist, motives. Specifically, Foxman wrote: “[t]he threat of the infiltration of Sharia, or Islamic law, into the American court system is one of the more pernicious conspiracy theories to gain traction in our country in recent years.”
Last year, Foxman wrote a letter of apology to Glenn Beck for the ADL’s having sent out “[a] direct-mail piece to some ADL supporters around the country [which] inadvertently misidentified [Beck] on a list of celebrities who had made anti-Semitic statements over the past year,”
in summer 2010, Foxman and the ADL opposed the Ground Zero Endzone-Dance Mosque on the grounds that it would be “counterproductive to the healing process,” However, within a few weeks, this opposition somehow evolved into the ADL’s launching of something called “the Interfaith Coalition on Mosques,” which basically cheerleads for, and attacks the opponents of, monster-mosque construction projects that have run into local opposition in various locations throughout the United States.
Foxman has also received widespread criticism for basically being a chazzer*, “earning” a salary of over $560,000 in 2009. This amount was the highest of any leader of a Jewish “Advocacy and Public Service” organization. In second place was Sara Bloomfield, who work as head of the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum earned her $542,654. No other such leader earned over $500,000.
(* The following dialogue from the 1983 movie Scarface should, for those unfamiliar, adequately explain the term “chazzer” ….. Frank Lopez (Robert Loggia): You know what a chazzer is? Tony Montana (Al Pacino): No, Frank, you tell me. What is a chazzer? Frank Lopez: It’s a Yiddish word for “pig.” See, the guy, he wants more than what he needs. He don’t fly straight no more.)
One critic was particularly turned off by “Foxman’s longstanding focus on opportunistic fund-raising rather than any kind of principled fight against anti-Semitism.” That critic mentioned Foxman’s role in winning a presidential pardon from Bill Clinton in 2001 for billionaire tax cheat and international fugitive Marc Rich. As the critic points out just so happened, around that time, to make donations totaling $250,000 to the Defamation League.
Foxman has also received criticism for the “inaction of the ADL during the [black-on-Jewish] Crown Heights pogrom [in 1991]–issuing tepid press releases while an entire Jewish neighborhood was under assault.”
