In a move that had many wrestling fans and pundits scratching their heads, the WWE decided to have John Cena triumph over The Miz and R-Truth at the November 7th WWE RAW. According to a Wednesday November 9th report by The Wrestling Observer, the WWE felt that Cena needed to stand tall because he was beaten up the previous two weeks by the duo of Miz and R-Truth. WWE creative brass didn’t think that Cena should be pummeled 3 weeks in a row.
In 10 days, the WWE will hold their annual Survivor Series PPV. The 2011 installment of the November classic is headlined and built around the main event match of John Cena and The Rock vs. The Miz and R-Truth. On the October 31st edition of WWE RAW, The Rock agreed to join Cena after John had publicly asked The Rock the week prior on RAW.
Unfortunately, many pundits and fans have had a hard time believing that The Rock and Cena would lose to the Miz and R-Truth, seeing that they are the two most popular superheroes in the WWE. Unfortunately, having Cena look strong at the end of RAW on November 7th was a bad idea as it almost firmly cemented the notion that Miz and R-Truth will lose.
As I have stated over the last few weeks, the only way the WWE can salvage anything with this tag-team match is to have some sort of major swerve at the end of the match, which would allow Miz and R-Truth to win. A great idea would be to have Cena turn on The Rock, giving their WM 28 main event match even more drama and excitement.
