Three arrests were made earlier this month during a multi-agency child pornography sweep in the East Bay.
The Oakland Police Department partnered with San Jose’s Regional Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force on December 21 to serve search warrants throughout Oakland, OPD spokeswoman Officer Johnna Watson said.
The seven search warrants executed resulted in the arrests of three men who were allegedly found in possession of child pornography, several assault weapons, and marijuana.
“These results show the importance and effectiveness of working with neighboring law enforcement agencies,” said Oakland Police Chief Howard Jordan.
The task force is made up of several partner agencies, including the FBI, Alameda County Sheriff’s Department, and Alameda, Hayward, Berkeley, and San Leandro police departments.
Watson said the Oakland police Child Exploitation Unit will continue with warrant sweeps in the city to combat crimes against children.
