In a stunning display of liberal hate, an editorial cartoon by Pat Oliphant paints Republican Presidential candidates as child rapists.
The cartoon shows Herman Cain riding off a hill populated by other GOP candidates.
“What other clown wants to get into this,” one character asks.
“Why, here comes Mr. Sandusky,” responds another dressed as a clown, referring to alleged serial child rapist Jerry Sandusky.
“Factually,” writes Dana Loesch at Big Government, “the only two lawmakers have been making news with child abuse scandal headlines and they’re both Democrats: David Wu and Dale Kildee.”
“It’s slightly creepy, but not surprising, that Oliphant would exploit sexual abuse for a political smear, even more shameful that some newspapers ran it,” she adds.
While most probably have no problem picturing politicians as vultures or clowns, Oliphant crossed the line of decency and professionalism by comparing Republicans to an accused child rapist.
It was only last August, during the debt ceiling debate, that an editorial cartoon suggested President Obama deploy Navy SEAL’s to assassinate Tea Party Republicans. Yes, you read that right – assassinate, as in “kill.”
This is the level of discourse one can expect from the Democrat-media complex, who apparently see nothing wrong with Oliphant’s editorial.
Would any cartoonist ever put out a cartoon doing the same to Barack Obama or Hillary Clinton? Hardly, and even if they did, no paper would ever publish such a thing.
But it’s okay to portray anyone with an “R” behind their name in such a way.
That’s not to say there are no good cartoonists out there.
“If you want to see a truly good cartoonist, check out Michael Ramirez,” Loesch adds as a post script.
This is not the first time Oliphant has ridiculed Republicans like this.
In 2008, Warner Todd Huston wrote at Newsbusters:
Well, leave it to Pat Oliphant, political cartoonist of the Washington Post, to make fun of both God and Sarah Palin at the same time, eh? Back on September 9, with his Tuesday comic, Oliphant featured a God that curses and portrays Sarah Palin speaking in gibberish as if she were “speaking in tongues” because she is supposedly a crazy Pentecostal. Oliphant apparently isn’t aware she left the Pentecostal Church six years ago? I’m sorry missed this one back on the 9th, but it is no less outrageous now than it was then.
No doubt Oliphant, described as the most widely syndicated political cartoonist in the world, will regale us with much more liberal hate in the upcoming election.
