When we remove ourselves from negative situations, we are able to develop a new perspective. For the first time in years, I have arrived at a safe place, a place where I can be restored.
I was working under relentless stress and was becoming physically sick. The doctors never did find anything wrong with my body, yet I had severe pains in my side, chest, and throat.
Now I can really focus on restoring both my physical and spiritual health.
The Bible says God takes care of the beautiful lilies of the field. Likewise, he will take care of all of my needs as long as I am seeking first his kingdom and his righteousness.
As I am taking time off to refocus my attention on my Savior, I will meditate on Psalm 37:26.
I was young and now I am old, yet I have never seen the righteous forsaken
or their children begging bread. They are always generous and lend freely; their children will be a blessing.
Being right with God means I will be a better mother and wife, and that desire takes precedence over all else.
After working in an environment where children endlessly swore at teachers and the administrators relentless bullied the staff, I am eager to return to a normal, healthy life.
I am like the woman at the well, thanking Jesus for his water that will never leave me feeling thirsty. My heart is eager to experience God’s abundant life, which is completely different from the world’s definition of prosperity.
On this new journey, I want my children to witness God’s hand upon my life. They will see me trusting in the Lord with all my heart and leaning not on my own understanding. They will observe me submitting to God as he is making my paths straight.
Then the Lord will bring health to my body and nourishment to my bones.
I pray that the teachers who are working in chaos will be protected. Those educators give of themselves daily, only to be told that their best is not good enough.
Some teachers can let the corruptness of the system just roll off their backs, but the educators who are giving 1,000 percent carry the weight of that job on their backs. As a result, many of them are deteriorating in numerous ways.
Teaching is one of my passions, but if I cannot work in a healthy environment I prefer to remove myself from the situation. We always hear that the education system is broken. Well, that is not a cliché. It is the plain and honest truth. Certain schools in low socio-economic areas are pitiable and this type of educational neglect should be illegal.
