Jamileh Kamran’s School of Fashion Design held a special ceremony for graduating students as well as an accomanying all day seminar based on ‘all things fashion’ on Saturday, December 3, 2011. The Introduction to Fashion Design Seminar was held between the hours of 9:00 a.m.- 4:30 p.m. The public was invited to come and learn the history of textiles, designing for varied silhouettes, history of fashion design and well-known designers. Special guest speakers included previous graduating student of Jamileh Kamran’s School of Fashion Design and popular Fashion Designer, Linda Rowe Thomas. Also on the roster of guest speakers was Lisa Sheridan from Arthur Murray Dance Studio who gave insight into designing for performers and dancers alike.
Following the seminar, the graduating students presented a fashion show featuring their own designs created while attending the Jamileh Kamran’s School of Fashion Design. Each graduating student was then presented with their diplomas, which took them a total of 224 hours of course work to receive. The graduating class of 2011 included Dana Chaney, Shawne Swindler Leach, Rebecca Marchant, Angela JaNell McKenzie, Tina Daniels Mills, Erica Elise Reed, Krista Lee Smith, Nichelle Terry, and Rosa Villegas. Each graduate had different future goals and were happy to have had the opportunity to learn from the well-known Fashion Designer, Jamileh Kamran.
