The nights of sitting at home on New Year’s Eve are over. For many years, families watched the fun and excitement of New Year’s Eve from the sidelines, as the party atmosphere isn’t usually family friendly. Finally, parents prayers all over the tristate have been answered, leaving the only dilemma left to be which activity to choose from!
First, there are a few events this Saturday that were designed to create a fun hassle free night out with even the smallest of kids!
- Happen Inc.’s Northside Center’s New Years Eve Celebration
With the incredible family friendly hours of 5:30- 7:30 PM, the Happen Inc. Center in Northside is perfect for families with toddlers. On any normal day, the folks at Happen Inc. offer art classes to kids absolutely free, but on New Years Eve, they are really going over the top with fun games, surprises, yummy snacks, and a ball drop at 7 PM– just in time to get the little ones home and in bed on time.
2. Woodland Mound’s Family New Year’s Eve Nature Celebration
Children ages 2-12 will enjoy a magician, crafts, face painting, live animals and balloon sculptures from 6- 9:00 PM on New Years Eve at the Seasongood Nature Center in Woodland Mound Park. The ball will drop as your family toasts sparkling grape juice and don’t miss the Boylan Family Band ring in the new year!
Hurry! You must register by December 27th!
3. Happy ZOO Year at the Cincinnati Zoo!
From 5-9 PM on New Years Eve only, the Cincinnati Zoo will turn on the lights one last time for the season. Not only is this the last night to view the always magnificent Festival of Lights, kids of all ages can meet Baby Zoo Year and Father Time, enjoy an exciting New Year’s Eve Madcap Puppet Theatre black light show, countdown the Early Zoo Year at the Wings of Wonder Theatre, and enjoy a fantastic fireworks show by the famous Rozzi’s Fireworks, the same company that creates the WEBN fireworks show each year in Cincinnati.
The final two activities to choose from are better suited for older children and teenagers:
4. Fire and Ice New Years Eve Party
Although this celebration will be serving alcohol and partying from 8 PM through 1 AM, The Ball On The Square Fire & Ice New Year’s Eve Party will also be providing delicious foods, live music, fire and ice performers, and kid’s events. In Oakley Square, the ball will drop at midnight!
5. Perfect North’s New Year’s Eve on the Slopes
Definitely one of the best tristate events for older children and teenagers, this is a thrilling night filled with hot chocolate and snow! Through 1 AM, your family can ski, snowboard, or go tubing– or all three! Don’t miss the candlelit parade down the mountain by snow instructors and ski patrol or the fireworks at midnight.
Hope you like how the wind feels in your hair!
With the many options available for a fabulous New Years, just get your family out of the house and don’t forget to bundle up! It’s cold out there!
