Darren Criss is making the most of his Christmas vacation. While “Glee” is on break from filming season three, the 24-year-old singer is taking on Broadway. On Thursday, a new interview with Criss reveals his true feelings about making the switch from the small screen to the big stage.
“Everyone’s like, ‘Oh, I gotta go to your opening night’, but I’m terrified. I’m like, ‘No, see it at, like, two-and-a-half weeks…'”
Now that Criss has taken on this new role in “How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying,” he will be sacrificing time spent on the set of his hit Fox comedy. The entire cast has been off since just before Christmas but will be returning to finish filming for the big Michael Jackson tribute soon. After that, they will move on to episode 12.
Anticipating his absence from the set, Criss has already filmed scenes for “Michael.” So rest assured, he will be a big part of the big musical tribute. Thanks to a recently leaked song list, we know that Criss will sing a solo of “Wanna Be Startin Somethin” in addition to a few group numbers.
Expect that Criss will likely be missing from the yet to be titled episode 12 at least. If the cast moves on to episode thirteen before “How to Succeed in Business” wraps, he could be gone from yet another episode as well. His stint will end in three weeks, so it does give some hope that production of two episodes will not yet be complete before his return.
