For years the MSM has told us America’s team was the Dallas Cowboys. The cowboy’s fortunes have risen and fallen depending on the talent of their players and the quality of the coaching staff. They have managed to accomplish their primary objective, which is to keep their fans interested.
The Dallas Cowboys are not America’s team. They may be the mainstream media’s team. America has a real team that is supposed to go out every day and fight real world battles for us, with a lot more at stake than a super bowl ring.
The battles they are tasked to fight provide a safe place for our families, a level playing field for our employers, and at the end of our working lives a frugal retirement.
Some of you think there is a red team, and a blue team, but there is only one team and that team is the same team the founding fathers gave us, our federal government. If the actions of the federal government were judged to the same standards as the Dallas Cowboys, they would have left Washington years ago in disgrace.
From its humble beginnings; the first thing congress did was to do away with term limits. Once being a congressman became a real career they needed a salary suitable for the new position they had just created. I remember congress whining back in the sixties that their salary was far below that of the typical corporate executive, whose work they imagined they emulated. Then there were the bennies. Those corporate guys have all kinds of cool benefits like free health care and retirement at full pay with golden parachutes and such.
Later actions congress undertook in the interest of our country created rampant inflation, which was eating up their paycheck, just as it was ours. Naturally they were forced to vote automatic pay increases for themselves. They no longer have to show up in front of we the people, hat in hand, and whine for a pay raise. It is delivered automatically.
If you think a bunch of people who have just mugged their employer as these guys have, are going to vote for term limits, you just don’t understand human nature.
Friends and neighbors it’s an ugly picture, but that’s the size of it. We are like a huge corporation that keeps making a deal their union without any management participation in the discussions. As long as the corporation has enough money to meet the union demands the union appetite is insatiable.
Where we get shut out of the labor discussions is at the voting booth. The red team tells us to vote for them, and we do. Then the blue team tells us to vote for them and we do that too. They will tell us lies about themselves or the other party, feed us endless hours of propaganda via our TV networks and slick news magazines; and once re-elected go back to business as usual.
As I said before, there is no red team, nor a blue team, just the same government the founding fathers gave us; a government of the people, by the people, and for the people. That brings up an interesting point; all the blame does not lie with congress. As citizens we must accept our fair share of the blame for not doing our duty and electing the best men posssible; men of courage and high moral character.
The only way to break up the red government, and blue government deadlock, and regain control of our government is to fire the red team, and the blue team, enmass. If you vote for a republican candidate, you just re-elected the red government. If you vote for a democratic candidate you re-elected the blue government.
At this point in time the only other major choices are tea party candidates, who do tend to run as republicans, the rest are independents, and libertarians. We have to do something about that tiny pool of candidates. We have to get more patriots to run for office.
In the meantime check out the people who are running and try to elect the best people posssible, the job of every congressman counts big time. Please don’t re-elect the red government or the blue government.
If you want to keep what we have, long enough to pass it on to your children, grandchildren and great grandchildren we are all going to have to participate in the political process and elect some people who will work for the USA fulltime.
They said the election in 2008 would be one of the most important elections in a hundred years. It really was important wasn’t it? If you had voted differently your 401K might still have enough money in it to retire on, and your home equity might be in positive numbers. Your cousin Frank might still have a job, and your parents wouldn’t be worried about congress trashing social security to pay for a propaganda tax cut.
This election is going to be even more important than the last one. If we re-elect these men who are now in government we may wake up one day in 2013 and discover that the country we live in is no longer the home of the brave, or the land of the free, but some other place.
If you have returned from Iraq and are getting discharged there are about 300 jobs available that pay 175 thousand per year, with unbelievable fringe benefits. These jobs are available to fearless men who will put their country first. You are definitely qualified. Welcome home!
