Happy hula hands, Hawaiian adds another flight to Hawaii from Los Angeles in June….
Just the other day during lunch at The Blvd in Beverly Hills, I convinced a friend who flies to Hawaii frequently from Los Angeles, to jump ship so to speak and start flying Hawaiian Airlines. I told her that not only did Hawaiian have an amazing on time record, but the minute you step onto the plane, the Aloha-spirited flight crew makes you feel like you’re already in the Islands.
After my friend checked out the airline’s web site and schedule, she called me to say, she’d made a reservation for her family’s next trip there. My husband and I have been flying on Hawaiian for years and for us it’s the only way to get to Hawaii. The food is amazing, created by Island chefs, the service is some of the best you’ll find these days on domestic carriers (and some international) and well, for us they just do it right, especially the First Class cabin service which is truly worth the upgrade.
And now for the best news for fans of Hawaiian Airlines, or Angelenos who go to Hawaii, the airline is adding athird daily flight from LAX starting in June, which will boost its service to Hawaii from the heart of the state’s single-largest visitor market.
“The growth of our long-haul fleet allows us to add this third daily flight on a permanent basis to better accommodate the strong demand for our service in southern California year-round and provide our customers with more schedule options,” said Mark Dunkerley, Hawaiian’s president and CEO.
Hawaiian’s increasing the seasonal flight to year-round service will add more than 70,000 air seats annually between the two cities.
Starting June 7, 2012, Hawaiian’s Flight #3 will depart Los Angeles International Airport daily at 10:30 AM and arrive at Honolulu International Airport at 1:10 PM The return Flight #4 will depart Honolulu daily at 10:20 PM and arrive in Los Angeles the following morning at 6:45 AM.
The flight’s mid-morning departure from Los Angeles offers an alternative to Hawaiian’s earlier departure, yet still allows travelers enough time on arrival to spend the afternoon exploring Oahu orconnect to a Neighbor Island in time to enjoy a first sunset on the beach. The schedule’s late evening return from Honolulu allows visitors a full final day in Hawaii before returning home.
Hawaiian’s current schedule:
Hawaiian Flight #1 departs Los Angeles daily at 8:55 AM. and arrives in Honolulu at 12:45 PM.
Hawaiian Flight #2 departs Honolulu daily at 3:05 PM and arrives Los Angeles at 10:30 PM.
Hawaiian Flight #9 departs Los Angeles daily at 5:05 PM and arrives in Honolulu at 9:00 PM.
Hawaiian HHaHH Flight #10 departs Honolulu at 8 AM. and arriving in Los Angeles at 3:25 PM.
Hawaiian is the only carrier serving Hawaii that offers complimentary meals in Economy Class, and is also the only carrier providing the spacious comforts of wide-body, twin-aisle aircraft for all of its transpacific flights.
