Hope Solo made great strides as an athlete learning to dance on DWTS, but too much muscle was apparently her downfall.
After being voted off during the second to last week of the TV show competition in season 13, the “loser” was so distraught that she couldn’t talk to the press.
That came later on during the daytime program Anderson with Anderson Cooper when she talked about the fact that the DWTS crew thought she had too much muscle to be light and airy on the ballroom floor. Dainty Hope Solo was not. At least not yet.
But Hope had hope since she had excelled in her chosen profession of women’s soccer and so she persevered with her pro partner, Maks. And, although their relationship seemed tense at times, this hard-working athlete learned to really appreciate her mentor who she now calls her lifelong friend.
As for her physique, uh, duh, said Hope Solo in a recent report. She insists:
“I was told I had too much muscle and I was too intense and wasn’t very dainty. Well, hello — you cast a female professional athlete! Help me get better as a dancer. There’s no hard feelings at all. I understand that it’s television.”
And on television while she was rated by wary judges Carrie Ann Inaba, Len Goodman and Bruno Tonioli, Hope Solo and her too much musicle made it to the semi-finals of DWTS — a major feat for a major contender.
