Why do some people stay healthy their entire lives while everyone else gets sick? Learn how to stay healthy so you can improve the quality of your life. Here are 3 easy ways to avoid getting sick.
Wash Your Hands. How often you wash your hands will make a difference between whether you stay healthy or get sick. Hand washing is a necessity to limit the spread of germs and illnesses. This is common sense, but you would be surprised by the number of people who fail to wash their hands after using the bathroom, before preparing meals and eating, and before providing medical treatment to others. Hand washing is absolutely essential for staying healthy. When doctors, nurses, and dentists do not wash their hands between patients, they put many people at risk for serious and life-threatening diseases. When restaurant workers fail to wash their hands, they place customers at risk for all types of bacterial infections. When you do not wash your hands you are compromising your health by inviting germs into your body. In order to stay healthy you need to wash your hands with soap and warm water constantly throughout the day, and keep your hands away from your eyes, nose, and mouth.
Eat Less. It is impossible to stay healthy when you eat too much. Americans are known for overeating. The purpose of food is to nourish the body and keep it healthy. If you are overweight, lack energy, or are generally unhealthy, limit your food intake. Eat small portions of healthy foods at each meal and then stop. You do not need to fill your stomach. If you remain hungry after a meal try drinking a glass of water or a cup of green tea. In fact, eating too much, gluttony, is a sin. So develop the self-discipline to eat less and stay healthy.
Sleep More. Adequate sleep is essential for staying healthy. In these busy days, many people are sacrificing sleep in order to work or take care of other activities. However, sleep is the one thing you should not sacrifice. If you do not get enough sleep, you will not stay healthy for long. Sleeping gives the body the time it needs to heal, and it strengthens the immune system helping to fight off illnesses so you can stay healthy. Sleep improves your ability to concentrate and function properly throughout the day. If you are not getting 8 hours of sleep during the night, then find ways to takke short naps during the day.
Take care of your health. It is much easier to stay healthy than it is to overcome disease.
