A Jackson woman is out on a $10,000 bond after being charged Tuesday morning with stabbing her boyfriend Friday night. Her boyfriend remains in extremely critical condition, according to a news release from the Jackson Police Department.
Terrace Kidd, 40, was arraigned in Jackson City Court Tuesday on charges of aggravated assault and filing a false police report. She is scheduled to appear in court again on Jan.23, 2012.
According to police, officers responded to the Jackson-Madison County General Hospital about a stabbing around 7 p.m. Friday. When officers arrived, Kidd told police that her boyfriend, Antonio Sain, 35, had left the home they shared on Howlett Cove and returned with a stab wound in his chest.
Kidd told police that she drove Sain to the emergency room, where Sain underwent emergency surgery. Police were unable to speak with him.
Police said while searching the area around Kidd and Sain’s home, they noticed a knife in the front yard. Investigators looked through a window in the home and saw broken items inside. After obtaining a search a warrant, investigators entered the home and found what appeared to be a crime scene.
The release said that investigators questioned Kidd again and she admitted that she and Sain had an arguement. Kidd said when she tried to leave, Sain grabbed her and she stabbed him once in the chest with a knife. She then drove Sain to the hospital.
Police met with the District Attorney’s Office and a joint decision was made to file charges against Kidd, the release said.
