Christmas is over and the 2012 is coming on quickly. On Saturday night many people will ring in the New Year at parties. Others will head out to community celebrations in Johnstown, Pittsburgh or State College. And some will spend it at home in front of the TV watching the ball drop in New York. Why not make it a fun family night at Seven Springs.
On Saturday, December 31, 2011, Seven Springs will be holding a tubing party. The tubing party takes place from 10:30 pm until 12:30 am. Reservations are required and must be made online. Tickets will not be available at the door. The tickets are $35 for those 12 and older and $30 for children 4 to 11. Enjoy a two-hour tubing session with the family. In between runs warm yourself by the bonfire and enjoy some pizza, hot dogs, fountain drinks and hot chocolate.
Tubing is just one of the attractions at Seven Springs for New Year’s Eve. Head out early and enjoy one of the New Year’s Eve traditions. Enjoy the Torchlight Parade down Stowe Slope beginning at 6:00 pm. There is also a free Roller-skating Party at the exhibit Hall from 8:00 until 12:30. This is an alcohol free party and children must be accompanied by an adult.
If you are looking for some more adult activities, they have those too. There will be New Year’s Eve events at both the Foggy Goggle and the Matterhorn Lounge. The activities at the Foggy Goggle cost $50 per person and take place from 9:00 pm until 1:00 am. The activities at the Matterhorn Lounge cost $25 and last from 9:00 pm until 1:45 pm. Both of these events require advanced tickets that can be purchased online.
Or just enjoy some skiing or boarding on the slopes. Spend the entire day on the slopes or come out for a twilight or night skiing session. Afterwards, catch one of the other celebrations or stay overnight to enjoy the New Year in a new place.
The weather forecast is a mixed bag for Saturday and Sunday. The forecast highs for Saturday and Sunday are for temperatures in the low forties. They are also forecasting possible rain showers on Saturday and Sunday. However, the forecast for Saturday night is for partly cloudy skies with lows in the mid-thirties.
So have some fun with the family this New Year’s Eve with the Seven Springs Tubing Party.
