Santa Paws for NAWS (Northland Animal Welfare Society) is from 6 to 8 p.m. at Zona Rosa (8640 N. Dixson Ave., KCMO). You and your furry friend are invited to get a free photo taken. This offer is available to the first 30 participants. NAWS will provide goody bags while supplies last. This event repeats Dec. 19.
Thursday, Dec. 15
The annual Chain of Hope Kibble for Christmas food drive is scheduled from 6 to 10 p.m. at Stuey McBrew’s (321 S.E. Main St., Lee’s Summit). Chain of Hope volunteers are collecting donations of dog and cat food. Donations of pet supplies, including crates, are also appreciated. T-shirts and other merchandise will be for sale. Enjoy food, drinks and the music of Clint Martinez, who performs at 8 p.m.
Friday, Dec. 16 through Sunday, Dec. 18
Join the Humane Society of Greater Kansas City and Three Dog Bakery for Santa Paws photos. Both pets and kids can have their pictures taken. Printed photos are only $5. The digital file is an additional $10. Hours are Friday from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. and both Saturday and Sunday from noon to 4 p.m. Photos will be taken at 602 W. 48th St. on the Country Club Plaza in KCMO; it’s just down the street from Three Dog Bakery. Get your pet’s holiday picture taken at Kennel Creek Pet Resort & Daycare (10750 El Mont St., Overland Park) from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Furry Kids’ Refuge invites you to Adopt a Rescue for the Holidays by organizing a collection drive. Download this wish list to hand out. When you’ve collected your items, take them to the Lee’s Summit Petco (1860 N.W. Chipman Road, Building C) from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. If you can’t make it then, call 816-277-8284 to make arrangements to pick up your donation.
Brookside Barkery & Bath is offering holiday photo sessions at its Lee’s Summit location (817 Woods Chapel Road) from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The cost is $15, which includes one 5×7 photo. All proceeds benefit PetEx Rescue ‘n Transport. Sessions are on a first-come/first-serve basis. No more than three pets per photo.
Show off your moustache and join the folks at Fred P. Ott’s Bar & Grill (6700 College Blvd., Leawood) from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. for a HELP Humane Society benefit. The person with the best real moustache gets a prize. The night includes dancing and karaoke. Donations of pet food are appreciated. Goofy holiday attire is welcome.

From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., bring your favorite furry friend to the Petco at 8600 Ward Parkway in KCMO to have its photo taken with Santa Claws. T.A.R.A. (The Animal Rescue Alliance) will earn $5 for every package sold.
