Pop-rock singer-songwriter Kelly Clarkson, 29, who made her initial splash into stardom in 2002 on ‘American Idol,’ endorsed U.S. Rep. Ron Paul of Texas for U.S. President in a tweeted message on Twitter.
Initially, there appeared to be a backlash from persons outspokenly criticizing her for making the endorsement. But when it comes down to hard-earned money, people are definitely approving of – or perhaps simply showing more interest in – Kelly Clarkson and her music.

In the past 24 hours since Clarkson sent the gone-viral message saying ‘I love Ron Paul,’ her music sales have taken off virally as well. By one report, her sales on Amazon have increased 192%. Her current CD has skyrocketed on the sales chart from #41 to #14.
The actual tweet on Twitter from Clarkson said:
I love Ron Paul. I liked him a lot during the last Republican nomination and no one gave him a chance. If he wins the nomination for the Republican party in 2012 he’s got my vote. Too bad he probably won’t.
