“The X Factor” U.K. judge Kelly Rowland has once again given a candid interview talking about her love life and and how she likes to visit sex shops. She has also said that she is not sure if she will return to “The X Factor” U.K. in 2012 because touring will be her main work priority.
Rowland (a former member of Destiny’s Child) has been promoting the release of her third solo album, “Here I Am,” which went on sale in the U.K. on November 28, 2011. The album’s U.S. release was on July 26, 2011.
In an interview with British tabloid the Daily Mirror, Rowland mentioned her penchant for going to sex shops and how she hasn’t been in a serious, long-term relationship since her 2005 breakup with football player Roy Williams, her former fiancé:
“You can’t keep me away from a good sex shop. Those are interesting places. I go with a bunch of people that way no one recognizes me …
“I wanted that wedding. I wanted to be married. I wanted to have kids. At that time I was crazily talking about wanting five. You can just make wrong decisions in life. That was all a part of growing up. I just think it’s important to trust your gut.
“I’m careful with my heart. I don’t take cr** from no one these days. I put my foot down. Being a woman you deserve heaven and earth. So if a man wants to date me, know that I don’t take cr**”
This is not the first time Rowland has talked about going to sex shops. She made the same confession in an interview in Vibe magazine’s August/September 2011 issue, for which she appeared semi-nude on the cover.
Although many people admire Rowland’s toned physique, she told the Daily Mirror that she still has insecurities about her body:
“I have cellulite on my a*** and I hate it. My grandma is naturally slim, but I have to work hard at it. I want legs like Serena and Venus Williams. They are my motivation. I do crunches and lots of cardio. I enjoy a glass or two of wine but apart from that I don’t drink. I have to sacrifice what I eat and I put in a lot of hard work with my trainer.”
As for when she wants to start a family, Rowland commented:
“I held a kid last night, and I was able to give it back. I’m 30 but I am not ready for kids yet, not till I have what Beyonce and Jay-Z have. When I held that child the other day it reminded me of Bey’s nephew Jules. I’m going to be there for Beyonce, changing diapers, feeding the baby and helping them as parents.
“But until I’m crazy in love with someone, like my best friend Bey is, then it’s not going to happen. When I get married it will be for life, divorce is not an option. I wouldn’t miss the birth of Beyonce’s baby. I don’t want to miss those moments. It’s a life-changing thing to people that I love and I want to be a part of it.”
Rowland, who joined “The X Factor” U.K. in May 2011, also talked about the “X Factor” U.K. contestants (female solo singers under age 25) whom she has mentored on the show this year:
“I love those girls, they too are my motivation. To see how they have grown into artists with fantastic voices I am so proud. The next few weeks are going to be extremely exciting on the show, you just watch. I’d love to have them sing on tour with me. I mean, they would put it down.”
As for returning to “The X Factor” U.K. in 2012, Rowland told the Daily Mirror:
“’X Factor’ next year? We’ll see. I definitely would love to go on tour though, so that will be my focus for next year.”
