Kenny Rogers traveled to Austin, Texas on December 1st and performed a variety of his rock and country hits at the Paramount Theatre. He joked with the crowd, paying particularly close attention to a gentleman in the front row. Kenny told him he would give him 10 dollars for every hit of his he could remember. Throughout the show, Kenny made it rain ten dollar bills on the guy.
Kenny’s set list included classic tunes such as “Coward of the County”, “Lady”, “She Believes in Me”, “Buy Me A Rose”, “The Greatest”, “We’ve Got Tonight” and “Lucille”. “Just Dropped In (To See What Condition My Condition Was In)” was really rocking with a video montage featuring First Edition video clips from the 1960’s. “The Gambler” featured a video montage which included each of the five Gambler television movies. The encore was a fast paced version of “Islands In The Stream”.
The Kenny Rogers Christmas and Hits tour continues with dates in Fayetteville, Arkansas on December 7th and Lake Charles, Louisiana on December 9th. The full listing of upcoming concerts is on Kenny Rogers’ website. http://kennyrogers.musiccitynetworks.com/index.htm?id=15753
