So the Jacksonville Fair’s not your thing AND you hit the Halloween candy again.
What you need is something really big to do this weekend to take the edge off.
You’re in luck.
NAS JAX is “celebrating 100 years of Naval Aviation” Saturday and Sunday.
FREE and open to the public. FREE admission, FREE parking, FREE Kids Zone.
You’ll know from living around here that NAS (Naval Air Station), like Camp Blanding and NAS Mayport, have played key roles in the defense of our country since at least WWII.
The largest single event in GreaterJax™, the Air Show is many things: a chance for the base and the civilian community to reconnect, a chance to see what our tax money pays for, displays of weapons and machinery that thrill gear heads and gun nuts alike.
This year’s Air Show also commemorates the 236th anniversary of the establisment of the US Navy and the US Marine Corps.
Here’s Some Of What’s In Store
- US Army Specials Operations Command Jump Team
- Shockwave Jet Truck
- F-4 Phantom Demonstration
- Fat Albert (C-130T Hercules) Demonstration
- A-10 East Tac Demonstration
- Air Force Heritage Flight
- The Horsemen Flight Team – airshowbuzz.com
- F4U Corsair Demonstration
- US Navy Right Legacy
- US Navy Blue Angels
Not that the rest of this stuff is way cool, but don’t miss a chance to see the Blue Angels fly.
Even if you’re not into military hardware and displays of awesome power, the Angels’ skill in the air will drop your jaw every time.
For cripes sake, they even fly upside down in formation.
If the adrenaline rush doesn’t make you white-knuckle and kill your sugar buzz, you’ve had way too much candy.
