Wallops Park in Accomack County, Virginia may get converted into an entrance to an aerospace industrial park. The House Natural Resources Committee approved H.R. 2087, which would remove a deed restriction on the property in the county’s Atlantic District requiring the 31.6 acres to always remain a recreational park. (For background, see story linked to below.)
The county wants to swap the recreational park to improve access to the growing industrial park. It would have to build a new equivalent park elsewhere.
The committee approved an amendment that would require the deed restriction to be removed within 90 days of enactment of the bill.
