One of our favorite Gen X actresses is coming back to the big screen, after dealing with a cheating husband, a divorce and the adoption of a baby boy. Sandra Bullock is co-starring with Tom Hanks in “Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close”, a movie about a young boy who lost his father in the World Trade Center on Sept. 11, 2001. The buzz on the movie indicates that it should be a big success. It opens nationwide on January 20, 2012.
Three new movies starring Gen Xers are out and doing very well. “Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows” stars Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law in their reprised roles. It topped the box office until just recently when Tom Cruise took his latest “Mission Impossible” movie to the top with his death defying stunts and action packed scenes. Matt Damon has a family friendly movie that came out on Christmas Day. “We Bought a Zoo” is directed by Cameron Crowe and it co-stars Scarlett Johansson.
