Leverage returned to TNT Sunday night, and Colorado Springs fans got a little taste of some titalating and devious psychological warfare. The episode was based around a college campus, specifically the psychology department and a fraternity full of rich boys who think they are above the law.
The antagonist in the story is a rich psychology student named Travis. He performs his ‘dirty deeds’ under the guise of a thesis study to help PST (Post Traumatic Stress) sufferers. But as the story unfolds it is discovered Travis has a sorted past that is being protected by high ranking officials in the government so that he can perform tests on war veterans that will discover a way to ‘break them’ without performing actual ‘torture’. The acts these college students perform are mental torture which can be just as traumatic as physical torture.
The team is asked for help after one of the veterans disappear. Hardison goes undercover as a college student and tries to infiltrate the frat house as a pledge. Parker is his eye candy and rock through the entire mission… she even helps him by doing one of his homework assignments. Eliot takes another approach as he infiltrates the actual study as a war vet himself. There are some amusing scenes where he puts the suits in their place which are worth the price of admission to watching this week’s episode. There wasn’t much action from Sophie or Nate this week which was somewhat refreshing because we got to see a lot more of the talent of the other three team members.
Next Sunday the episode is titled ‘The Office Job’ and from the previews it looks like there may very well be a large amount of humor. You can check out the sneak peek to the left for more details. The synopsis is simple; they try to bust open an embezzlement scam at a corporation by going undercover and working at the ‘office’. But things become more complicated and interesting as they are thrust into a documentary being filmed at the ‘office’ at the same time of their job.
